You can paddle along The Exeter Ship Canal and really experience the great outdoors...
We offer a choice of canoes. We have both single and double kayaks, which are propelled using double ended paddles. Double Kayaks are also available with additional child seats, so you can paddle out as a family.
These kayaks have large cockpits for your comfort. Also if you happen to turn a kayak over you will easily slip into the water supported by your buoyancy aid.
Our Canadian canoe fleet has two sizes suitable for 2-3 adults (depending on size) or 2 adults and 2 children. These canoes are propelled using single blade paddles. They are ideal for family groups or parties. The canoes are easy to paddle. Basic instruction is given, they offer a really different fun day out! The canal runs alongside the Exe Estuary, and through a unique wildlife area. It's non -tidal, making it calm and ideal to explore for every one .
Two pubs on route provide welcome refreshment!
Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times and are given to all paddlers.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
We recommend that groups of children are accompanied by qualified canoe instructors, which we will arrange. Please contact us in advance for booking.
Booking is strongly recommended although boats are often available on the day.
All boat users must be able to swim at least 25m. Boat users under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult in the same or accompanying boat
The Vista is an open cockpit, fast touring tandem in which to explore the avenues of the waterways and take in the sights. The hull features a defined keel and tracking channels to keep a firm grip on the water and add stiffness, ensuring a smooth ride with excellent directional stability on estuaries, lakes and rivers. A child can between the seat with the addition of a middle seat.
The Ocean Kayak Malibu 2 is an ideal sit-on for those looking for a 2 man craft which also can be used solo. The Malibu 2 is at home whilst inland cruising on slow moving rivers and in moderate swells.
The Colman RAMX open canoe is sturdy and stable. Capable of carrying a heavy load the 17ft model can take two adults and two children or2/3 adults and all of your camping equipment.. The canoe can only be paddled solo with a certain amount of technique. The open canoe is the most relaxing of our boats. Sitting up above the water line you can enjoy the view and stay dry.
The Scooter is a really good general purpose sit-on suitable for gentle touring, moderate surf and general mucking about. Good capacity and hull shape make the Scooter very stable and easy to use. Popular as a family craft as you could paddle with 1 adult and a little one in the boat
